Ann Kinney

Hi, I’m Ann Kinney, an active retiree who walks in Nature every day with my best friend, Leia, a very cute Shih Tzu. My inspiration is divinely led. Poems and song lyrics seem to flow after life throws a curve ball.

I Wonder

It’s time for creative juices to flow

No one knows if they will grow

Stay on track and don’t look back

Love’s expression has no lack

It’s all saying we must come back

I wonder.

Rhythm of My Heart

When the world fills with no time to feel,

All we do seems so real

Is there more?

Pay attention to the rhythm of my heart

That is the secret of life with zeal,

Glistening, rainbow after a Spring rain

That beauty starts the rhythm of my heart

Until the vision fades away

Only to go back to our everyday.

Turn Around, I’m Still Here

Something happened today, that changed gears

Bringing up yesterday’s fears.

Going country bound

To see what is found.

Turn around, I’m still here.

Your rejection is very clear.

Just the opposite of city places

Tractor, hay, bailing, open spaces.

Perhaps we had a chance.

Thought we were open to romance.

Turn around, I’m still here.

Your rejection is very clear.

Turn around, I’m still here.

Your rejection is very clear.

Holidays

Holidays approach soon,

Everyone follows the blue moon.

Remembering songs from the past,

Hoping the feelings will last.

Memories stirred –

Disappearing without a word,

Hoping we are heard.

Reindeer Wine

Reindeer stomping grapes off the vine,

Listening to Holiday songs,

No doubt a sign.

Just need some of that Reindeer Wine

Taking over all senses-

No need to mend fences.

Reindeer wine. Reindeer wine. Be kind.
