‘I’d know that animal anywhere. But what kind of animal is that?’
“That’s Rita – she’s a red wolf.”
‘You don’t mean it,’ he smiled. ‘I thought she was a mongrel.’
“A mongrel?”
‘Yeah. She used to come for scraps at the White Angus, with Dutch and some Yorkies, before the big dogfight. ‘ He looked at me and grinned, ‘She looks a lot better now.’
That’s when he told me about the fight in the alley behind his restaurant.
“But how do you know that Dutch was Cerberus?”
“Well, I’ll tell you and you be the judge,” he replied.
